What We Do...
Shepherd Pirate Peg-Leg Theatre Troupe #6059 competes in U.I.L. One-Act, and has two other plays every year. One in the fall directed by Mrs. Diana Busteed, and one in the winter directed by a senior who has presented a play to Mrs. Busteed which she approved. During all this we also have pledge week, bake sales, members week, a hot dog social, T.O.T.S. (Trick Or Treat So Kids Can Eat), and an annual banquet.
Each One Broken Down...
Fall Production |
Each year Mrs. Busteed picks a play, holds auditions, and has a public performance. Before the performance there are numerous rehearsals including Saturdays, in the end many find it worth it.
|
Senior Directed |
Every year we have a senior directed show, it is a show that a senior has usually prepared since their junior year, and they present it to Mrs. Busteed. She chooses one that will show later that year. They will then hold the auditions and choose who they believe will best fit the part, most directors have their asst. director when they choose their play. Sometimes the rehearsals run over to One-Act auditions which last two or three days.

One-Act Play |
One-Act Play is the most amazing, and memorable time of the year. During this time, we work very rigorously to perfect a show as much of possible. We travel to schools around the state to participate in UIL competition. We also always have a public performance for a local audience, along with competing.
|
Pledge Week |
Pledge week is when we recruit the freshman class of that year, we have games and events that all lead up to the end of the week for people to pledge. We may not get everyone and have some people just come for the fun of pledge week but it is still an amazing week.
|
Bake SalesT.O.T.S. |
We have at least one bake sale per year. If someone brings an item they get 1/2 a point on their point sheet, and a point for helping if they go. It usually takes place outside of Wal-Mart in Livingston.
T.O.T.S. (trick or treat so kids can eat), each year we go out on the Friday closest to Halloween trick or treating for canned goods or non-perishables and donate them to the local food pantry. Only time that this is not done is if the weather does not permit.

|
State Festival is a state-wide convention that our troupe travels to annually. It is revolved around becoming a better thespian, and honing your abilities as an actor, or techie with workshops. There are thousands of workshops held over three days, which teach you a wide variety of techniques, and abilities; such as stage combat, accents, stage lighting, and many more.

Hot Dog SocialMembers Week |
For Hot Dog Social, every year our program goes to the local park, we eat hot dogs and other junk foods while acting like little kids on all the swings and slides. There are also people who climb trees, and just walk around the path along the edge of the park.
Members week we do little things to say thank you to all the members for all their hard work and dedication to I.T.S. They work very hard to keep their membership so we like to just let them know that they are appreciated.
|
Banquet |
Every year we have a banquet as I'm sure most I.T.S. programs do, but ours is very amazing most other programs of the school get jealous of our decorations. We go through a lot of stress and time to make it nice and amazing for everyone, this is where we induct new members, our new officers, give everyone there a weenie award, and name a supreme weenie and royal whiner. Weenie awards are awards honoring something the person did during the year they are usually done similar to a stand up comedy for each award. The supreme weenie is the weeniest of the all and the royal whiner is the person who throughout the year did the most whining, both individuals have their own thrones in the front of everything near the head table (where the officers set).
